Hunter Family Vision – Frame Showcase

Hunter Family Vision is excited to bring you our new collection, Salvatore Ferragamo.

Salvatore Ferragamo is one of the world’s best-known luxury brands. The company’s history dates back to the early 1900’s when its founder was obsessed with shoes at a very young age. He hailed from a very large Italian family and would hang out at cobbler shops watching them make shoes for men and women.

At the age of 9, he made his first pair of custom shoes and amazed his parents by having this gift. At the age of 12, he opened his own store in Italy. His shoes and their designs became such an overnight success, that he was destined for America. He was 14 years old when he arrived and he took to the streets looking for manufacturing facilities for his shoes to become mass-produced. The quality of craftsmanship of the final product was not what he wanted, so he opened his own store in Hollywood in 1923. His handmade shoes became so famous in Hollywood, that he became known as the “shoemaker of the stars” styling clients such as Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis, and Grace Kelley. He was the first to invent the stiletto, the wedge, and the ballet flat for women’s fashion, which are still very popular styles worn today. Even in the company’s 3rd Generation of ownership, the shoes are still handmade and reflect the quality, craftsmanship, creativity, and elegance the Ferragamo brand is known for.

Salvatore Ferragamo eyewear uses iconic symbols from its heritage, such as Gancino, Vara and prints, and experiments with new shapes and materials, like leather, and pays attention to the finest detailing. The total look of the eyewear is very tailored and classic. He is very artful in his usage of color, but the design and the details from his signature shoes absolutely come across in the frames. Everything is Italian made and the crystal embellishments are from Swarovski.

On February 24, 2015 in our Prairie Village location from 3-7pm, we will be showcasing this amazing collection. Our frame representative, Laura Muehlbach, will be on hand to show the collection in it’s entirety. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see all the colors and styles that we don’t carry in the office. There will be special savings offered on purchases during this event. We look forward to seeing you and introducing you to Salvatore Ferragamo!
